Little by little we are learning new details about the next batch of chapters of The House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel spin-off that debuted with tremendous success last year on HBO Max. Now, in that sense, we have learned that the The second season of The House of the Dragon will have fewer episodes than the first. This has been confirmed exclusively by the portal Deadline, who has had access to this and other information about the series starring the House of Targaryens. According to this source, the second season of the fiction based on the novel by George RR Martin will have eight episodes, two less than the first.
As Deadline has learned, HBO would also already be considering give the green light to a third season even before the second has gone into production. In fact, this is about to start with the idea in mind that the series is ready to debut in the summer of 2024. Likewise, the information also indicates that the direction of La Casa del Dragón is talking about three or four seasons in total in which they could fully cover all the events of Martin’s novel in the most appropriate way.

However, since HBO has not yet confirmed the renewal for a third, all this is still up in the air. Recently, on the other hand, we learned that the young Rhaenyra and Alicent would not be back in this second season of House of the Dragon. It was the actress Milly Alcock herself who confirmed that her time on the HBO Max series had already come to an end and that she was not going to be present in the second installment. In the meantime, keep in mind that until 2024 there will be no more content from the Game of Thrones universe, which continues to prepare other spin-offs for HBO as well.
