The number of video game adaptations for the small and big screen does not stop increasing and the next one that will follow the same path will be Syberia, as Microids and What The Prod have officially announced, whose intention is to produce an animated series based on the saga created by Benoît Sokal.
What The Prod has acquired the rights to take charge of this adaptation and also already has experience in this area of the world of animation. This is a great opportunity for us to see the universe of this franchise in another format after having left us with several different installments for more than 20 years.
This will allow us to follow the adventures of Kate Walker, a young and ambitious lawyer from New York, on a journey that she will undertake from Western Europe to Eastern Russia, where there will be no shortage of other iconic characters and a story whose managers They assure that they will try to make it as exciting as that of video games. As stated by Elliot Grassiano, founder and COO of Microids:
It’s a real treat to see Syberia come to life in an animated format. We are delighted to team up with What The Prod to offer Syberia fans a fantastic viewing experience, perfectly capturing the soul of this iconic franchise. It will be a new opportunity for players and new viewers to discover or rediscover the fascinating world of Syberia.
Ashargin Poiré, founder and president of What The Prod, has also wanted to speak out promising that art and animation will offer an amazing experience. What’s more, it has even been indicated that the objective is to achieve a quality on a par with series like Arcane, the successful adaptation of League of Legends on Netflix.
Our ambition is to create an animated series inspired by the incredible game universe, dedicated to fans and newcomers alike through a modern writing style that pays homage to the best dystopian and uchronic works. The art direction, the type and the quality of the animation will guarantee an amazing experience halfway between reality and fantasy.
