CD Projekt Red doesn’t want another Cyberpunk and will scrap their work on The Witcher Project Sirius spin-off, which will start from scratch. We tell you more details, in this note!
The spin-off of the saga The Witcher Project Sirius, which was announced last year, appears to have run into a couple of development issues. According to a series of internal documents Investor-ready, developer CD Projekt Red has the idea to scrap what they’ve done so far and start from scratch. Thus, they will relocate the funds destined for the game that was in charge of The Molasses Flood, the studio behind The Flame in the Flood.
Members of the CD Projekt Red team, consulted by international media, stated that the company was dedicated to ensuring that Project Sirius is “aligned” with its business strategy. In the note to investors they wrote that the measure was taken to reassess “the commercial potential and scope of the original Project Sirius concept. The work to date and how to formulate a new framework for the project”. This hints that the game would be scrapped and restarted, possibly even without the involvement of The Molasses Flood.
CD Project Red He did not give further explanations about the future of the project of which little is known so far anyway. It is assumed that this will be a spin-off ready to launch along with other projects that include a remake of The Witcher 1 and a new trilogy of games.
Added to this is a sequel to cyberpunk 2077 and one IP new with code name “Hadar” of which nothing is yet known. None of these projects have either confirmed platforms or an estimated launch window.
