It had been a long time since the guardians of destiny 2 we expected to meet The Witness, a mysterious figure who uses darkness as a weapon and is responsible for the first collapse of humanity. In Eclipse he returns to finish the job and destroy the Traveler, but he’s not going to meet us idly.
The Season of the Seraphim It was completely useless, as we lost Rasputin and the Tactician, the main defense of the land. Now, The Witness has reached our shores… and things are not looking good. However, I refuse to give up and not try to sink my wizard boot up the ass of that walking hookah.
The beginning of the end in Destiny 2
The Witness and his Black Fleet break into our system, taking every ship they find with them. Guardians and soldiers die. The Traveler responds with a charge a light ray against the Witness’s ship, which goes out into space and advances towards him while destroying more ships with just the wave of his hand. He has a vision and sends his vassal Calus to Neptune.
Osiris, the old guardian, launches into the emperor’s ship and my enchantress follows without hesitation. We leave the conflict behind and embark on the enemy ship to stop it. Osiris’s great idea is to stop the ship and since we cannot manipulate it, he opts for overload the reactor to burst it Don’t let anyone tell you that explosions don’t solve problems!
It’s my turn to do the dirty work, obviously, and I manage to save myself at the last moment from the Torturers with an escape pod. At landfall, the compound opens and I see for the first time Neomura. I notice my eyes widen: a cyberpunk-style city with shades of purple, blue, and orange. To understand my wonder you must know that purple and orange are my favorite colors.

Cabal drop in pods, trying to cut me off. The expansion has reduced my light, so my sorceress is weaker than them… but I have my Hierarchy of Needs bow. Nothing can stop this gun bugger!
I continue advancing until I find a strange energy, a tangle of green threads that gives off great energy. I touch it and I get new powers. ohTHE TIE! This is the new subclass. It makes my sorceress much more powerful. I start chaining the new abilities while swinging back and forth and picking off enemies. I cast my ultimate. I can’t help but scream with excitement in real life. It feels amazing!

My joy is short-lived. My sorceress is completely weakened. The Binding it is a paracausal energy that allows the threads of reality to be handled through the mind. This is a skill that requires tremendous will and balance…something no Guardian is prepared for.
Luckily, the Cloudwalkers and Osiris come to my rescue. And speaking of the Cloudsurfers, who are really cool, does anyone else remember the Silver Surfer from The Fantastic Four? Nimbus He is a brave young man and joker. Rohan he is a veteran and patient Cloudwalker. They form a perfect and lethal team.
Osiris and I joined the Cloudwalkers to defend Neomura of the Calus Legion attack. Our allies trust us, but I’m not so sure of our capabilities. Osiris is impatient, flippant and I can feel the fear of him during the transmissions. He still feels the absence of saguirahis deceased specter.
Philosophy of The Binding
The missions progress. We managed to contain the Cabal attack and keep the Vex in place, who have joined the battle in search of a special power… the same one that I am about to find on the beaches of Neouma: The Binding.
The investigation of the Binding and the deal with the Cloudwalkers have calmed Osiris’s spirits. He takes the role of teacher and urges me to give the most to master The Binding. And that’s the problem, you can’t subdue a psychic power that controls the strings of reality itself. Nimbus helps us: it must not be subdued like Stasis, for example, but I must flow, be part of and a conduit of power.
I really like the philosophy surrounding The Binding. The light subclasses (Void, Arc, and Solar) are a power halfway between natural and magical, learned through meditation and repetition; and Stasis is learned through practice and repetition. The Binding requires inner will, intention and mental balance. reminds me of words Bruce Lee:
Empty your mind. Have no form, no figure, like water. If you put water in a cup, it becomes a cup. If you put water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. If you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. The water can flow or hit. I know water, friend.

And that’s exactly why I love The Binding so much, because for the first time it’s about a power that rises from the guardian and that it does not depend entirely on The Traveler. It is the energy of reality itself. The developers stated that they wanted a more immaterial power to set it apart from the rest we know so far, and they have!
Surely I will have advanced a lot and understood The Binding when this is posted. Now I want to know your opinion: do you like The Binding? What do you think it’s missing? Will you use it as your main subclass? I read you in comments!
