Get to know in detail the new maps of season 4 of Halo Infinite
Specifically, Season 4 comes to Halo Infinite with the addition of two new maps: Scarr and Forest. While Scarr takes us into the mechanical heart of a mining operation in a volcanic setting that was abandoned intended for BTB, Forest is a sand map set amongst the ruins of an ancient temple complex. Therefore, we will have two completely different maps from each other.
The development team wanted highlight some artistic elements that offer maps like these. For example, with Forest they were able to work on the ancient ruins of Halo, telling a story of a different kind while offering nuances in the architecture and design. In Scarr, meanwhile, they’re able to showcase a grittier industrial complex, which offers a stark difference from the human-themed settings they’ve released previously.
Speaking specifically of the Forest map, the team noted that the Delta Halo map from Halo 2 was the main inspiration for the team, who have ensured that it is a map that shows a bit of the relationship between humans and Forerunners from a unique period in history. In addition, artistically it differs from other locations in Zeta Halo, by presenting a more jungle environment, and at a playable level it has aspects such as a hollow tree or a waterfall where you can find a sniper.
As for Scarr, it was revealed that the team decided choose to place a Diminisher of Hope ahead of a gravity hammer for players to fight over. The one that manages to get hold of it can make a difference in the game, since it offers greater area of effect damage, and the wielder can run faster than with the gravity hammer.
