Have you ever dreamed of being on the Tron Grid? Well, now you kind of can if you have $89.99 and you’re at Disney. We tell you the details, below!
if for any reason tron It was always your favorite saga and the one that makes you wish you could live in its universe, now you have how to do it… more or less. It turns out that Disney launched the new Tron Identity Program, a special merch for those who visit the company’s theme parks and get on the attractions of the saga. The idea is that these are figures “in white” but in which you will be able to scan your face, record six lines of dialogue and customize it with various helmets, colors and bodies to make yourself.
The concept resembles similar things companies like Hasbro did with their “Selfie Series” figures where you can put your face on the body of various toys, but instead of taking several weeks with a 3D printer, here your digital face appears on a little screen.
Obviously, this makes the process quite expensive – each figure costs $89.99. But, the idea is that you can take them with you during the day, after just 20 minutes of waiting in the park as the only distribution point. Also, the box is designed to look like a Tron arcade.
tron It is a saga without much luck in the cinema. Despite its status as a cult movie, neither the original from the 80s nor the soft reboot from 2010 Tron: Legacy they managed to make a difference at the box office. Save for a short series from 2012, it’s been over a decade since Disney it does nothing with the franchise.
However, things could change with the release of Tron: Ares, a third film that is supposed to start filming in August of this year. The star is supposed to be Jared Leto, the very famous Dr Michael Morbius. Director Joachim Ronning supposedly he will direct, according to rumors. The tape does not have a confirmed release date.
