There is no way to leave behind the storm that has hit Helldivers 2 over the past few weeks. It will take a long time for PC fans to forget what happened with the attempt to link accounts with PlayStation Network to play the Arrowhead Game Studios title, especially when the same error is repeated in Ghost of Tsushima.
It was not until days later that we saw the following update on SteamDB: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania joined the long list of countries in which Helldivers 2 is no longer available for purchase on Steam. Needless to say, we all blamed it on Sony continuing to do its thing, but we were wrong… at least in part.
It is true that Sony is responsible for the fact that these three countries cannot buy helldivers 2, but it is a fault that goes back to the controversy. They were already included in the initial list, but Valve had to make an “administrative error correction” to add them to it.
Director of helldivers 2 and CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, Johan Pilestedt, noted that he knew nothing about it and looked for answers until he found them. He said this on the Official Discord:
To give you an update on the restrictions in three other countries [Estonia, Letonia y Lituania]. It was the correction of an administrative error – they should have been part of the original restriction and realized it when the restriction was put in place for Ghost of Tsushima. […]
Although it does not seem positive, it is not indicative of additional restrictions. The conversation about restrictions in regions is still ongoing and is being carried out independently of this. I have no more information. Us [Arrowhead] We still want the game to be available everywhere.
I feel totally strict, Sony is still responsible for carrying out the movement that has caused players in all these countries to not be able to buy helldivers 2. Although they are certainly not to blame for the update itself. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were not additionally added to the list, but were already there from the beginning.
