The launch of next The Witcher It may be very far away in time, but from CD Projekt RED They are already at full capacity in its production with several hundred developers in charge of its creation. Although we have barely known details officially (nor through rumors or leaks), little by little the Polish company itself is clearing up the doubts that fans have.
In that sense, we have now learned that The new The Witcher will change many things with respect to the successful The Witcher 3. This was made known by the company itself in an investor meeting broadcast by audio through the studio's YouTube channel (in statements collected by the portal altchar) and that has offered us new insights into a project that aims to be mammoth.
“We don't want to stay stagnant,” says CD Projekt
These were the words of one of those present at the financial meeting when talking about what is the approach taken for the next The Witcher, which will mark the beginning of a new trilogy and code-named Polaris:
“The Witcher Polaris is still an RPG, but there will be some changes from The Witcher 3. We don't want to stay stuck in the same place. We always want to push the limits and discover new ways to tell the story. “We want to move in a new direction, so you can expect new things in the next Witcher game.”
As you can see, these are not very specific statements. CD Projekt RED has opted for this low profile so far, surely for two reasons: because development is still in a very early phase and, above all, to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past with Cyberpunk 2077. The new approach of the Polish company is not surprising, since The Witcher Polaris has important basic changes such as the transition from the REDkit game engine to Unreal Engine 5 For this there is already 400 developers working in the project.

Project Polaris is not the only The Witcher video game currently in development, as The Molasses Flood is also working on an alleged multiplayer title set in that universe and Fool's Theory, composed of CD Projekt veterans, does the same in a remake of the first The Witcher also with Unreal Engine 5. A sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, code-named Project Orion, has also begun its pre-production phase.
