Ubisoft loves crossovers, especially when it comes to the latest installments of Ghost Recon. We've seen everything from nods and references to missions dedicated to iconic figures, whether from their franchises or from other film-related ones. And I want to remember one of the latter.
Who is the last fictional character you would like to meet in a jungle? If you thought of Rambo, you are wrong… but you have all my respect. The correct and sensible answer is Predator or Predator, an alien species that hunts Xenomorphs and humans for fun. And hunting humans isn't complicated, but things change when we talk about Alien.
In case you didn't know, Ubisoft thought it was amusing to introduce a side mission in Ghost Recon Wildlands that culminated in a deathmatch with the Predator. And it didn't mess around: it had invisibility and missiles that lock onto with classic three-point lasers.
Personally, I had to hunt him down at night and I used the night vision goggles. It wasn't a direct confrontation as such, more of a cat and mouse game. Ubisoft did an amazing job because you had to detect him by the sound and the distortions in the vegetation from his invisibility. Also, the night vision goggles made it easier to see the laser. It took me about 10 minutes to finish the bastard off.
The reward for the quest was his amazing mask. If I recall correctly, it allowed you to use his heat sensing system. If you plan on playing Wildlands I recommend that you don't skip this mission because I'm sure you'll have as much fun as I did hunting this critter.
