WARNING: This post contains SPOILERS for Hogwarts Legacy
The Unforgivable Curses They have that name because their use is punishable by admission to Azkaban Prison, as pointed out by “Alastor Moody” in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. However, the rules in Hogwarts Legacy are a bit different: they’re punishable and your allies don’t like you wearing them, but you won’t go to prison. There is no karma systemso you’re going to have to role-play.
In Hogwarts Legacy the three unforgivable curses are available, namely: the killing curse (Avada Kedavra), the Cruciate Curse (Crucio) and the Imperius Curse (Empire). To learn all three, you need to follow Sebastian Sallow’s story, whose quests are secondary. Below you can see the missions in which you learn the three curses:
- Cruciatus Curse (Crucio)– Unlocked during Sebastian Pallow’s “Shadows of the Studio” quest, which will be unlocked as you progress through the main story. You must select the option to learn it and use it or learn it and have it used against you. You have no more chances.
- Curse Imperius (Empire)– Unlocked during Sebastian Pallow’s “Shadows of Time” quest, which will be unlocked as you progress through the main story. Sebastian asks you if you want to learn it just in case. You must accept at that time, otherwise there will be no other option.
- Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra)– Unlocked during Sebastian Pallow’s “Shadows of the Relic” quest, which will be unlocked as you progress through the main story. At the end of the mission, you need to select the answers: “Everyone should know about this curse” and “Yes, please.”
You have to learn them at the right times. you won’t get another chance in none of the curses. The only repercussion for using them is that the npcs make comments about you, nothing special. Relations and dialogues will remain exactly the same. Remember that you can try them before getting them in the Arena of Dark Arts, but you need to have their corresponding DLC.
