He Xbox Games Showcase from last weekend gave us new looks at long-awaited games like Starfield, Fable or Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, but also new announcements that made our teeth very long. One of them was Compulsion Games’ South of Midnight, for which we already have the first details, but the star of the event was Clockwork Revolution, the new from inXile Entertainment, which instantly reminded us of another great video game.
In answer to the question that everyone asks… Will Clockwork Revolution be like BioShock Infinite? inXile is very clear about it and it is a resounding no. so has explained briefly Brian Fargo, head of the North American studio, in a recent tweet that suggests that the creators of Wasteland will continue to be faithful to their playable keys.
Clockwork Revolution will not be a BioShock Infinite
Yes, without a doubt the aesthetics of the Clockwork Revolution trailer that we could see at the Xbox Games Showcase reminded of the one from the Irrational Games game, but playably we will be facing something very different. These have been the words of inXile leader Brian Fargo in this regard to clarify what his video game will be like.
“It’s important to know that Clockwork Revolution is a true RPG with all of its stats, juicy detail, and deep responsiveness that we’re known for.”
Thus, in the new inXile we will not find a light action experience like the one that took place in BioShock Infinite, but the game will have more in common with the aforementioned Wasteland and for which the Californian studio has become famous throughout its history. In addition, Fargo also took the opportunity to answer some questions from the fans and clear up some doubts that may remain in the air.
From these answers we extract that Clockwork Revolution is being developed under the game engine Unreal Engine 5that we can create our own character to our liking and that will be released “in due course”, which means that from inXile they are not going to run more than necessary to adjust to a defined term. The game will arrive when it is ready to, in short.
This is what Clockwork Revolution looks like, the new from InXile that has a great resemblance to Bioshock

South of Midnight, the other surprise of the Xbox Showcase
This year’s Xbox event also included a second announcement for a game from their own studio. We talk about South of Midnight by Compulsion Games. The creators of Contrast and We Happy Few have already dropped that their new title will take us to the American South and that it will contain high doses of fantasy. Our protagonist will have to make use of your magical abilities to defeat enemy creatures.
