REPLACED has delayed its release year again, now expected in 2025
It was less than two weeks ago when Xbox itself announced that it had delayed the release date of Avowed, one of its most anticipated games of the year, in light of the large number of releases left until Christmas. However, it seems that the list of exclusive games for the console will continue to shrink after Coatsink announced that REPLACED will not be released in 2024 either.
The retro-futuristic 2.5D action-platformer developed by Sad Cat Studios delays its release year again after being announced at E3 2021 for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as part of Xbox Game Pass. Its previous delay was in September 2023 due to not wanting to release a below-average game. “We really want Replaced to be something special and memorable for everyone,” its developer explained at the time.
Now, the studio is offering a shorter statement. “Our initial release date was optimistic and we apologize for that. Developing REPLACED is a unique challenge and we are proud to create something so special“, they begin by explaining. “We need more time to ensure we meet the high standards we've set for ourselves and meet the expectations of our fans.” They promise to offer updates on Discord, where they will share development diaries and answer questions.
