The Xbox Series X|S sales have always been the subject of debate since this generation began. Although the latest Microsoft consoles had a meteoric start, something surprising given the level of stock that existed; over time, unit sales gradually slowed down, to the point that the console has data that is below what has been seen on Xbox One globally.
Nevertheless, Xbox Series X|S sales are not being equal in all territories. While it is true that the presence of Microsoft hardware has dropped considerably in European homes, the same has not been true in the United States. At least, this is what Mat Piscatella, an economist, has confirmed, who has assured that “the console market is not doomed,” as some voices seemed to indicate.
Xbox Series X|S sales in America are very similar to those of Xbox 360
According to Piscatella's data, Xbox Series sales are “keeping pace with Xbox 360,” despite what it might seem at first. It is true, however, that Mat acknowledges some “familiar challenges”which Xbox has had with the change of console during this generation. However, it is a good indication that the sales of the consoles are similar to those achieved by Microsoft's most successful console.
Additionally, Mat also talks about there being an increase in Xbox Series sales in the coming weeks, thanks to the College Football 25 Releaseda title that is expected to sell well in North America. Therefore, it is to be expected that the console data will continue to improve in the coming months, not only with releases such as the one mentioned, but also in anticipation of the most important release of next year, which will undoubtedly be GTA V.

The rest of the platforms also show that the console market is still very much alive.
Piscatella also talked about how the rest of the consoles are performing in the market. Firstly, in America the PlayStation 5 still outsells the PlayStation 4 by 7%, while the Nintendo Switch is only 1.1 million sales away from catching up with the PlayStation 2, the best-selling console in history. So what is clear from Mat Piscatella's data is that The console market is still very much aliveeven though some people insist on killing them.
