Many actors have put themselves on the line to get the perfect shot, but none have reached the limits of Tom Cruise. However, in Mission Impossible: Deadly Judgment Part 1there was one action scene in particular that, while far less dangerous than jumping off a cliff, he refused to do.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pom Klementieffthe actress who plays the villain in the seventh film of Mission Impossiblecommented that Tom Cruise he refused to kick him in the stomach. The refusal was so adamant that he had to immediately call her doppelganger out of fear of avoiding possible serious injury.
“I told him to kick me here [En el estómago]. She was clenching her abs. I said, ‘You can do it,’ but he was like, ‘No, no, no, no.’ I told him: ‘But he’s going to help me!’ But he didn’t want to.”
Interestingly, throughout the franchise of Mission Impossible, Cruise has exposed himself to danger countless times. As producer of the saga, the actor has managed to do risky scenes and in turn ensure the production of the films. However, Cruise is not a stunt fan and has spent years taking heavy beatings and training in various techniques such as driving, wrestling, and skydiving.
Although Klementieff was ready to take a hit, the star didn’t want to risk injuring her and thought the moment could be captured in another way. Mission Impossible: Deadly Judgment Part 1 It will be released in theaters around the world on June 28, 2023.
