IllFonic has taken over from Sony the publishing rights to Predator: Hunting Grounds and intends to revive this rather forgotten asymmetric event during this year.
Players on PlayStation 4 and PC will receive patch 2.49 during April/April. This focuses on player movement, redesigning and balancing Fireteam and Predator weapons, and improving the user interface.
At the end of the year, Predator: Hunting Grounds will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The next-gen version will run on Unreal Engine 4.27 and will be available in standard and digital deluxe editions. The press release does not say whether current owners will get a free upgrade. The first wave of new Predators will arrive during the winter, followed by a second wave in the spring of 2025.
Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic, boasted that the game has a strong, enthusiastic player base and a vocal community that wants the game updated and supported.
