Three photos that are supposed to show have made it to the internet the new Xbox Series X model no Blu-ray drive. The well-known leaker eXtas1s boasted of photos in very low resolution.
A purely digital version of Microsoft's more powerful console was first talked about last year during a court battle with the FTC over its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Although later Phil Spencer, as head of the American company's gaming division, played down the plans, saying that a lot had changed since then. On the other hand, in design, this Xbox had a completely different design.
According to the photos, the designers were not crazy and they preserved the shape of the cuboid, which proved suitable for proper cooling of all components. Of course, the cut-out for the Blu-ray drive is missing. But the most interesting thing is that Xbox Series X is white.
Beneath the surface, there will be only minor changes. Microsoft should have focused mainly on better cooling and improvements to the Nexus card. The goal is to bring a powerful console to market that it will be able to sell at a lower price.
If this Xbox Series X is real, then the question is when Microsoft wants to bring it to market. Competing Sony is preparing the PlayStation 5 Pro in the fall, and Nintendo is preparing a successor to the very popular Switch. With that in mind, it would make sense to surprise and release the console in the summer.
