Goat Simulator 3 fans found similarities to the opening scene of Skyrim.
Skyrim is full of curiosities that his fans have contributed to him over time. In this way, although the ARPG was one of the favorites of time, thanks to the innovations that this Bethesda title brought with it -such as its graphics and extensive game mechanics- today it would be more than perfect if it were updated with an engine. like Unreal Engine 5, for example.
In this sense, it should not be forgotten that in his time, Skyrim, like many other titles of its genre, were designed using the best technology; but many years have passed since its official launch, so that fans can take advantage of the content of the open world game. So, in addition to the endless mods that we’re continually seeing on Internet forums, there are also other ways that fans, inspired by one of the most important installments of the decade, have created their own entertainment.
Goat Simulator pays tribute to Skyrim
Recently a game called Goat Simulator 3, as its name suggests, is a cooperative action game set in the fictional island of San Angora where the player controls a goat in an open world. Depending on her moves, she will either be in control of the situation or allow the other team to manipulate their opponents.
Comprised of two other previous titles, the ridiculousness of the gameplay is the main attraction of Goat Simulator; however, also has some references to other titles, such as the opening chariot scene from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The latter started as a joke, with the original installment of the goat being developed during a Game Jam session (or rather, a session where people try to create a game from scratch in a very short period of time and it quickly became a phenomenon). In this way, the Goat Simulator of the year 2014 positioned itself as one of the most simplistic and laughable, but memorable simulators in the industry.
The proof of this is that there was more than one sequel, but the latest one, Goat Simulator 3, has been quite awaited by its fans, who are also curious to know what will be the parodies that will come out after its recent release. But the developer Coffee Stain Studios did their thing before the game was released. The Gamescom 2022 trailer was a parody of Dead Island 2, showing a runner running along a pier, while goats ransacked the background of the landscape, attacking pedestrians without concern. And of course, now that it’s already available for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5, fans will be more attentive to winks.
Luckily for you, you won’t have to spend a lot of time searching, as there is a video from IGN that shows 16 minutes of gameplay in Goat Simulator 3. The video begins with the player waking up in the back of a car driven by a farmer. As he reacts from his dream, the farmer tells him “You’re finally awake”, and proceeds to continue with a speech about what’s to come. But, for those who don’t know, it’s an obvious reference to the opening scene of Skyrim, where the player wakes up inside a crate along with other prisoners and they are taken to Helgen for execution. Of course, in the parody there will be no similar fate for the protagonist goat, but the farmer who refers to the vehicle as the “wagon of Skyrim” leads the animal to roam the land freely. Here you can see the video in question:
as you could see this scene is pretty much the same as the one in skyrim. And its fans know better than anyone that this intro is classic in the ARPG and, therefore, they have seen it so many times that modders took it upon themselves to omit this part of the narrative in Goat Simulator 3. Although, It’s quite interesting that the creators of the simulator have taken one of the most popular role-playing games of 2011 as a reference, since they don’t really share any similarities.
Be that as it may, the sequel to Goat Simulator contains many references to other icons of video game culture.so it would not be surprising if in the future they wink at another of the titles most loved by fans of action and adventure.
