James Gunn gives new details about the next Superman movie in the DCEU
He was the director of the film himself, James Gunnthe one responsible for sharing through Threads the official logo of the new Iron Man, as the cast of Superman: Legacy has begun principal photography. However, the news also came with a big change in the DC Universe, as James Gunn announced that the film has now been titled Superman. This is what he had to say about the changes:
I am delighted to announce the start of principal photography on Supermanwhich coincidentally coincides with the birthday of superman. When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. When I closed the final draft, It was clear that the title was Superman. We are coming to you in July 2025.Happy birthday, Clark.!
The most curious thing of all is that this particular version of the symbol of superman it is based on the version of the iconic DC hero from Kingdom Come. Something strange if we take into account that the Superman of Kingdom Come is aged, not like the story he proposes James Gunn. The only important difference is that the black color of the shield has been replaced by yellow, one of the classic colors linked to the figure of Superman.
The James Gunn Update It also suggests that the suit will be something more similar to what he wore Henry Cavill in it DCEU. Until the director shares a full official look at the entire suit, the world can only speculate on what the rest of the suit looks like in David Corenswet. With any luck, as James Gunn's Superman movie moves further into production, the DC Studios co-CEO may share a full take on the new Superman on the big screen.
