With a rather particular name in Spanish, Nvidia presented cuLitho, a library of tools and algorithms for computational lithography. Find out everything here!
nvidia joins the leaders in the semiconductor industry to develop the new chip manufacturing, although his name is quite particular and in Latin America it is already used against him to mock: Nvidia cuLitho. The name may be a bit distracting, but this new tool is set to revolutionize the chipmaking market.
Nvidia cuLitho is a library of tools and algorithms optimized for computational lithography, which is accelerated by GPUs and whose manufacturing process requires a critical step “computational lithography”. Its name has an explanation and it is that it derives from computational lithography, that’s why it is cuLitho. Chip manufacturing needs this process as lithography is a complex computation involving electromagnetic physics, photochemistry, computational geometry, iterative optimization, and distributed computing.
This step is one of the biggest workloads and thanks to the libraries of cuLitho it may take much less. It focuses on the emerging challenges of computational lithography and thanks to the GPUs that speed reverse lithography up to 40 times, we can create new solutions for future semiconductor technologies with the goal of making it more economical and predictable.
Finally, cuLitho It promises us to eliminate bottlenecks in the production process and will enable the use of innovative solutions and advanced techniques that were not possible before. With this collaboration, the door opens to a new era in chip production, which will allow us to further advance semiconductor technology and the possibility of exceeding the limits imposed by the laws of physics. nvidia did not confirm when it will be available cuLithobut the company is expected to say so in the coming months.
