A report details that Jim Ryan would have threatened to hide information about PS6 from Activision if the purchase by Microsoft ends up going ahead.
The Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard is still stuck, although representatives of the Redmond company are already preparing to appear before the FTC to use their arguments and try to come to fruition. At the moment, the body is based on Xbox’s shares with Bethesda since its purchase to continue blocking the deal. For its part, PlayStation continues to try blow up the operation with Jim Ryan at the helm, who would have even threatened Activision with do not offer information about PS6 in case they join Xbox Game Studios.
The information comes from the hand of the journalist stephen totilo, who shows a report compiled by the FTC in order to defend his arguments in the hearing that will take place with Microsoft in the coming days. As can be read in these pages, Jim Ryan would have guaranteed on April 6, 2023 that, in the event that the agreement between Activision Blizzard and Microsoft goes ahead, would deprive those responsible for Call of Duty of information about the next PlayStation console; that is to say, that the company would not have any access to details about what Sony is preparing with PS6.
In an FTC v MS/ABK deposition, PlayStation chief Jim Ryan said that, if deal closes, Sony couldn’t tell Activision about its next console

Jim Ryan assures that Activision games would have less quality on PS6 than on Xbox
Ryan argues this decision by reserving the right to keep confidential information so as not to share it with the competition, since Activision would become a studio owned by Microsoft. The direct affirms that this would be detrimental to the development process and the gaming experience of all the proposals that Activision wants to launch on PS6. By this, he means that the new installments of Call of Duty, for example, would reach lower quality on Sony consoles.
For now, the situation remains stagnantalthough recent information affirms that in a private conversation Jim Ryan himself would have admitted that he is not concerned about the matter, since the PlayStation strength in the market will enhance that Call of Duty continues to be present on their consoles. A new episode of one of the most intricate stories that we have been able to witness in the modern age of video games.
