Before release Control in the summer of 2019 and beyond, it seemed that publisher 505 Games was throwing sticks under the feet of the creators from the Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment and deliberately sabotaging the entire brand. A year's exclusivity of the PC version for the Epic Games Store at a time when it was bringing negative publicity, a paid graphics upgrade on new consoles, a pointless several-week delay of the first paid DLC in the Xbox version, an exclusive mission and a suit for the digital Deluxe Edition for PS4, which by agreement with Sony have not appeared anywhere else to this day… This all led to the belief that the relationship between Remedy as a developer and 505 Games as a publisher does nothing good for end customers.
Nevertheless, we received an announcement in 2021 that this cooperation will continue and that it will come out of it a cooperative project from the Control world with the working name Condor and a larger title that eventually turned out to be a full-fledged sequel, that is Control 2. But now everything is different. The management of Remedy announced the transaction with the target buy back all rights to the Control brand from 505 Games.
