Jeff Grubb has not hesitated to stop one of the biggest rumors in the world of video games today: the remake of Final Fantasy IX.
One of the most widespread rumors in the video game sector today is the possibility of seeing a final fantasy ix remakesomething that has already been commented on numerous occasions, in different ways and whose main support is the big Nvidia leak from last year. However, from Square Enix they still do not offer any kind of comment in this regard, so the wait is becoming eternal for all those who are waiting for an official confirmation. However, one of the most trusted voices in the industry, Jeff Grubb, has wanted to tackle the matter.
“Most of the Square-Enix games on that list have been confirmed and even out now, except for Final Fantasy IX Remake and Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster… I have to say, recently I heard once again that Final Fantasy IX Remake is real. That’s real and it’s happening,” Grubb said through Game Mess Mornings, his regular podcast. Therefore, taking into account that he is one of the most reliable insiders in the sector at the moment, everything indicates that in some future event we can see once and for all the official reveal of Final Fantasy IX Remake.
However, that seems unlikely to happen anytime soon, as Square Enix is deep into promoting Final Fantasy XVI, and is even already paving the way for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to land this winter. Therefore, everything indicates that the official presentation of the Final Fantasy IX remake could postponed until 2024.
Final Fantasy IX remake could be exclusive to PS5
Another of the great information that has emerged in recent times regarding this remake of Final Fantasy IX is the possibility that the great relationship between Square Enix and PlayStation will cause the game to be released only on PS5. At the moment it has to be treated as a rumor, but checking the treatment that the series is having with its latest installments, it would not be disposable that it was a reality when its official presentation takes place, presumably, next year.
At the moment, all that remains is to wait to see Yitán, Garnet, Vivi and company again with a renewed appearance, although various sources already suggest that this remake of the ninth installment it would not be of the same cut as the one seen in Final Fantasy VII.
