It has already been shown that the new protagonist of the Ppkémon anime has surpassed Ash in his first gym fight.
pokemon anime has closed a cycle and started a new one with many adventures ahead. This after Ash finally won the Pokémon championship, making his dream come true. Now there is a new protagonist, Roy, who has set out on his journey to explore and know everything this world has to offer.
However, because Ash was the protagonist of this franchise for several decades, both in the series and in movies, it was inevitable that comparisons would begin to emerge between this and the new character, Roy. However, and without detracting from anyone, this new protagonist has proven to be superior to the Pokémon Champion through his first gym battle. In the next lines we will tell you everything about it.
Roy, the new protagonist of the Pokémon anime has surpassed Ash in his first gym confrontation
As we mentioned at the beginning, the Pokémon anime has started a new journey with Roy, the one who will be the protagonist of the adventures to come. This young man left with the intention of exploring and learning more about his surroundings, together with his little companion, Fuecoco, a Fire-type Pokémon.
In the middle of his adventure, heard that Brais, the gym leader, saw the Black Rayquaza. Because of this, the young man wanted to find out more details, but he wouldn’t tell him anything unless he defeated him in a Pokémon battle.
This took all the spectators by surprise, since, at least for the moment, Roy had not manifested no intention of participating in gym pokemon battles nor win these medals to face the Pokémon League. In fact, the boy didn’t even come looking for Brais to challenge him to battle.
However, since Roy wants to know all the details about the Black Rayquaza, he had no choice but to accept the fight. At first, everything seemed to indicate that he would have the advantage, as Brais is a trainer who specializes in Grass-type Pokémon while Fuecoco, Roy’s only Pokémon, is a Fire-type. So you have an advantage.
But the young man knew that he should not trust himself, because this does not mean that he had the victory assured. AND for this fight Brais decided to use Sudowoodowhich should be a Grass type, but it is a Rock type and this element has an advantage against Fire type.
And so they began this intense fight in which Fuecoco learned a new ability of Rock type, which balanced the balance a bit. But as the Pokémon attacked and showed what they were made of, Brais had Sudowoodo switch to Grass-type, knocking out Fuecoco.
Although the outcome between Roy and Brais was the same as the battle between Ash and Brock, well both protagonists lost their first match of gym, the truth is that Roy did better, making the most of all the abilities and potential of his Pokémon, whether it had a disadvantage or not.
On the other hand, Ash faced his battle with Pikachu against Brock and his Onix. But when the latter executed the first attack from him, the challenger got scared and didn’t know what to doSo it didn’t perform well at all. In fact, worrying too much about Pikachu’s safety, Ash didn’t know how to act and ended up losing the match.
When Ash’s performance is compared to Roy’s, both in their first gym fight, we can say that the latter has already surpassed Ash. Obviously this it does not take away any kind of merit from Ashsince he has shown on many occasions the quality of a coach that he is, but it is curious that this young man has beaten him in this regard.
It is also worth noting that the match between Roy and Brais was not official, so even if the challenger had won, they would not have received a medal. However, this battle makes it clear that this young man has great ability and talent as a coach. Also, many viewers think that if Sudowoodo hadn’t changed types, maybe Fuecoco would have won. But these are speculations.
