The last chapter of the anime has shown us the importance of a strategy in combat.
After the farewell we had from Ash in the Pokémon anime last March, we have already been able to see the first chapters of Pokémon Horizons: The seriesa new story that has Liko and Roy as protagonists and that, after several chapters, have solved several of the great mysteries of the franchise.
However, the arrival of these two coaches also implies that we are before two rookiesbeing so that it is not being strange to see that both Liko and Roy, who have not had any previous experience, are making mistakes that go beyond those that can be seen in the series, while with the last episode of the anime already broadcast, there have been many who have reported that the two characters continuously order the same attack.
Roy and Liko have suffered a humiliating defeat against Captain Pikachu.
This is a very common mistake even among video game players, since in this chapter we can see that Roy’s Fuecoco and Liko’s Sprigatito face Captain Pikachu, this being a much more experienced one who has started the fight using Double Team to avoid both his own damage and that of his opponents. Given this strategy, Liko and Roy’s solution is launch the strongest attack of his two Pokémon, which causes the fight to end with Captain Pikachu intact doing nothing and Fuecoco and Sprigatito exhausted from the effort.
It is here where the common error of the trainers is seen, which ignore status attacks to give priority to those that cause more damage, thus giving rise to many who do not know, for example, that Flamethrower is better than Flare to avoid that 15% chance of missing the movement, which can be fatal according to the situation. Or that to avoid the boost that Double Team implies our Pokémon can use Feint or Air Strike that always hit.
Be that as it may, it seems that Roy and Liko have learned their lesson, so it is to be expected that in future anime battles they will not make these mistakes. Of course, we will have to see it first.
