The Sentinels created by Tony Stark could become a serious threat in the near future.
The X Men have gained some popularity during the last events of the marvel universe. With the arrival of the writer Jonathan Hickman at the Casa de las Ideas, the mutants have experienced a new golden age with an intricate plot of politics which was marked by the establishment of the mutant nation of krakoa. In this sense, Marvel has been setting the stage for one of the most brutal moments and crucial that the X Men in its history. In fact, the comic book series Fall of X It’s been in the making for some time now and it will change everything we know about the group.
The Sentinels created by Tony Stark could become a serious threat in the near future
All this began to be orchestrated when the orchis organization he gained prominence among the X-Men by attempting to discredit them, with Sinister’s timeline fallout causing internal conflicts among the mutants of Krakoa. Since then, things haven’t been going very well for the X-Men. However, the comic Invincible Iron Man #7by Gerry Duggan, Juan Frigeri, Bryan Valenza and Joe Caramagna, raises a problem that could linger in the Marvel Universe long after the final showdown between the inhabitants of krakoa and orchis: the Stark Sentinels.
Having established itself as an important part of fall of mutantsthe Stark Sentinelsa resulting combination of Iron Man technology and classic Sentinel design, appear to have a much larger purpose and creepy. While it is true that these Stark Sentinels have been tested in battle in the comic X Men #23, have appeared in two separate comics that have nothing to do with mutants. This suggests that the Stark Sentinels could imply a greater danger to the Marvel Universe in the future.
It has already been seen on numerous occasions how some of Iron Man’s inventions turn into something much more dangerous than they first appeared. In fact, Tony Stark himself tried to disconnect them before they started to be a threat, but found out the hard way that, even sketchy, the Stark Sentinels are a force to be reckoned with. However, this was not the only appearance of him in a comic that was not exclusively focused on the X Men. They recently appeared in the comic Goblin Network #5 with quite an astonishing appearance.
The way they have been deployed also configures them as an elite army Sent to take down top-tier threats. At first, the Stark Sentinels were created to contain the threat of cletus kasady when it infected the city of NY. Therefore, they had nothing to do with mutants until they were discovered by Orchis. Also, although his location was deliberately done to provoke a fight with the X-Men, even activated a Sentinel to help the heroes evacuate the cities.
Given the orchis has obtained a group of these Sentinelsit is sure that they will an attack on the nation of Krakoa. Although at first they were created to help the heroes in their tasks, the villains have found how to use them to your advantage. After all, there aren’t many non-hero forces that can handle threats like an attack orchestrated by a symbiote-enhanced cletus kasadyor even a fire that is out of control.
As such, it stands to reason that Marvel have long term plans for these machines that could be seen in the not too distant future. It is possible that after the event of Fall of XHuman society tries to keep Sentinels around them to feel safe, thus understanding the value of a deadly army to use should they ever need protection. They might even be more attractive to the world as protectors of humanity. At the moment it is known that the Sentinels created by Tony Stark will be protagonists in a brutal battle against the X-Men.
