Almost every year, in the flood of April Fool's pranks from the gaming world, something real can be found. Just think of Return to Monkey Island or last year's madness The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. But sometimes it is not easy to determine whether it is not just some elaborate joke after all. This is also the case with the proven studio Nightdive, which announced that after classics such as Quake, DOOM 64, Star Wars: Dark Forces, Turok or Rise of the Triad, they are dusting off a forgotten and rather obscure shooter PO'ed.
Any Channel's PO'ed was released in 1995 for the 3DO, followed by a port for the first PlayStation less than a year later, giving players the opportunity to take on the role of a chef who must escape from a hostile world full of aliens. The announcement of a return to such a well-worn title, which the vast majority of Indiana visitors and editors have never heard of, therefore at first glance seems like a typical April Fool's joke. But Studio Nightdive came not only with a proper trailer, but also with a product page on Steam and GOG.com and with the announcement that PO'ed: Definitive Edition coming soon for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Switch. So it looks like it's not a joke.
