Just a few months ago, Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella somewhat wowed fans of the beloved Titanfall franchise by dropping that I would love to see Titanfall 3. With the existence of Apex Legends, a title that is in the same universe as Titanfall, according to rumors, Respawn Entertainment left the development of the new Titanfall on hold, to make a better battle royale, something that we do not know if it has really been fulfilled.
At the time of all these events, the Apex Legends content creator, TheNeon_Beast, commented through a tweet which was deleted, that Titanfall 3 was on the way and it was realbut after a few months in silence and without an announcement by EA in any of the events that we have experienced in these weeks, now our fellow Insider Gamingled by Tom Henderson, have published that Titanfall 3 has been canceled after 10 months of development.

Do you want to hear a crazy story? Titanfall 3… Titanfall 2, you know, it came out, it did what it did, and we said, “Okay, let’s do Titanfall 3,” and we worked on Titanfall 3 for… 10 months. We had, new technology for that, we had various missions going on, we had gameplay that was on par to be as good, if not better, than what we had before. But I’ll make this clear: Titanfall 3 was getting better, but not revolutionary. We felt pretty decent about it, but not like in Titanfall 2, where we were doing something revolutionary.
At that point I had become the lead narrative designer on Titanfall 3, I had just presented the…story, the whole game, that Manny and I had come up with, we did this big presentation and then we went away for a bit of a break. Coming back we canceled Titanfall 3 ourselves because we thought, “We can make this game, but it will only be slightly better than Titanfall 2. And don’t get me wrong, I’ll always miss having another Titanfall. Titanfall 2, as I said, is my greatest achievement, but it was the right decision.
On the other hand, a while ago, Jason Schreier leaked a few months ago that EA stopped the development of a game based on the Apex Legends and Titanfall franchises, known internally as Titanfall Legends. Respawn Entertainment was in charge of this new installment, which is currently on standby.
