Putin wants to offer a new video game ecosystem composed of hardware, software and even a cloud service network. Of course, all this will be created solely by Russia
Russia has been in the spotlight for quite some time lately, more specifically since its invasion of Ukraine began. However, this time he wants to be in the news for something else, more specifically, Vladimir Putin wants Russia to be able to create its own video game network. Of course this includes hardware, software and even a cloud service network in order to offer Russian players an infrastructure that improves their quality of life when playing.
It is not the first time that this country offers news about the world of video games, although it has never had a leading role in the development and creation of elements related to this world, currently there is a game that has managed to make a place for itself among the users: Escape from Tarkov. That's good news, although if you remember, not everything has been good, especially in recent years. In fact, the development of STALKER 2 had to be stopped due to the war that we mentioned before.
Russia wants to take a big step in the world of video games
This information has become known thanks to some reports that have been unearthed by PC Gamer. That is where it was learned that the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, wants to create a new ecosystem for the country based on video games. As you well know, for some time the digital world has been booming and especially when it comes to games, over time they continue to gain popularity and that seems to have led Putin to make this decision.
It has also been learned that this would not take place in the next two years, as you well know, creating a console from scratch takes a long time and if we talk about an ecosystem like the one Russia wants to create, it seems that we could be talking about even ten years. That is the estimated time it could take to be made from scratch, therefore it seems that we will still have to wait a while to see this project standing.
On the other hand, despite wanting to enter the world of video games, Russia doesn't care who you are if it has to judge you. The writer of the famous Metro saga was sentenced to eight years in prison for being against the invasion of Ukraine. Fortunately, Dmitry Glukhovsky was not in Russia at the time. We will see what happens in the future, Russia's plans involve creating a completely new ecosystem, so it will not be an easy task.
