There is no doubt that the best companion for your Smartphone is a Smartwatch. In the market there are prominent brands such as Apple with its Apple Watch, Samsung with its Galaxy Watch and of course Xiaomi with its Mi Watch. But there is also a niche for products from lesser-known brands that seek to cover the lower-end or entry-level market spectrum.
There are 2 types of Smartwatches. Those with a more traditional aesthetic than a conventional watch and, on the other hand, the Smarbands that are aimed at an audience looking for a product more oriented to the fitness world or less bulky.
Today I am going to talk about a model that belongs to the first category, which evokes the mythical G-SHOCK from CASIO in its aesthetics. We are talking about the ZEN CHRONOS JAPAN from the X-View brand
Fulfilling what an entry smartwatch promises
This model has a 1” TFT full color screen with 240 x 240 px resolution. Allows you to receive notifications and preview phone calls. It has a heart rate monitor (blood pressure and blood oxygen), pedometer and sleep monitor. It is IP67 certified for splash resistance (you won’t have an excuse to go running in the rain). Its 200 MAH battery lasts more than your salary throughout the month, so you won’t have to charge it every day.
As for connectivity, it has Bluetooth 4.0 and is compatible with Android 4.4 or higher or iOS 8.0 or higher. As a curious fact, it allows you to make gestures to take photos with the movement of your wrist.
Regarding day-to-day use, I tell you that notifications are received by a slight vibration. Its mesh is rubber. And the only reason I lower points is because daily you have to manually synchronize it with the app so that you don’t miss out on receiving notifications and the time and weather are kept up to date.
The software: its Achilles heel
The menus are simple, although their navigation is a bit chaotic. To enter the options of each menu you have to hold down one of the 2 buttons it has (both have the same function) or the screen for a few seconds until the screen updates. Exiting a menu performs the same action. After a bit of trial and error it is very easy to use.
The number of skins to display the time is varied enough so that you don’t get bored.
A very competitive and attractive price
The most attractive thing about this product is its market price that, although it may be discontinued in the X-View store, you can still find it on the web at prices around $6,000 or $6,500 Argentine pesos and together with its features make it Without a doubt, for me, a purchase worthy of being one of the best options as the first Smartwatch.
