Diablo 4 has finally been released worldwide, so anyone with a copy of the game can venture into the world of Sanctuary to battle demons led by the fearsome Lilith. The campaign promises tens of hours of entertainment, but Blizzard is already thinking about the future of the game.
Rod Fergusson, producer of this latest installment, has given an interview to Kinda Funny Games in which he has been able to anticipate that this new Devil It has a long life ahead of it, as the team is working on a lot of new features, especially in the development of at least two new expansions.
We have to build things in parallel. Right now, as I’m sitting here, we’re about to release the main game, we’re finishing up the first season, we’re working on the second season, we’re working on the first expansion, we’re about to start the second expansion. And all of that is happening right now.
Of course Fergusson did not want to go into detail about what we can expect from these expansions. However, if we were to rely on the content received by the previous Devil After its launch, you can expect the addition of new classes, more zones, an expansion in the main story, new enemies, final bosses, etc.
For example, in Diablo III the Reaper of Souls expansion was released, which included the Crusader as a new class, the fifth act, and the fight against Malthael. In addition, another one was released later that served to unlock the Necromancer, so your thing would be to think that with devil 4 a similar example will be followed, although at the moment only Blizzard is the only one who knows for sure what will happen.
Regarding the seasons, it is expected that the first one will start in July and have an approximate duration of about three months, so the second would not be available until October, at the earliest, in the absence of confirmation of all the news that we will see in each of them.
