That Xbox currently has a large number of exclusive developments on its hands is something we have known for a long time. Although among the most popular games that are yet to come, some stand out such as Starfield, Forza Motorsports, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Fable, among many others; there are also studios with less impact that are working on new projects, as is the case of Compulsion Games, Double Fine or inXile Entertainment.
As of today, there is still no official confirmation of what these new games are that the creators of titles such as We Happy Few, Psychonauts 2 or Wasteland 3 are working on. However, leaks and rumors about them have been revealed. , and right now we can do a slight idea of what some of them are up to.
What is the future of Compulsion Games, Double Fine and inXile Entertainment?
Starting with Compulsion Games, the leaks indicate that the studio would be working on two projects at the moment. On the one hand we have Project Midnight, which would be a third-person action game set in a dark and fantastic world, according to leaks. Apparently, this title would be a new IP, which would be accompanied by Project Velvet, of which absolutely nothing is known, beyond the fact that it will go into full production after launching its previous project, which could appear soon.
As for the creators of Psychonauts, little is known about what Tim Schaffer and his team are up to. Last week launched Massive Chalice on the market, a game that was released directly on Xbox Game Pass (like everything from Xbox Games Studios members), and which served to learn that the studio is currently working on two titles. One of them could be Psychonauts 3, something that would make sense given the success of its second installment; but nothing is known about what the second project could be.

Finally, inXile Entertainment has been working on its new game for a long time, which would have the internal name of Project Cobalt. According to the leaks, it would be an FPS RPG, which would mean a total change from the studio’s latest project, Wasteland 3. According to information, it would have a Steampunk setting inspired by an industrial revolution. For now it has not been officially revealed, but Matt Botty assured that everyone was impressed with the presentation that the team made of this new project.
So it looks like all three studios have some really interesting stuff up their sleeves, even though they haven’t been publicly revealed yet. It will be necessary to see if any of them makes an appearance during the Xbox Games Showcase, since it would be the ideal moment to publicize any of these projects.
