Attention spoilers: This post discusses the plot of the recent Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire movie.
One of the most unexpected moments of Godzilla and Kong: A New Empire consists of the pink transformation that the enormous kaiju undergoes during the film. Director Adam Wingard already surprised the audience with dDifferent looks at this look during the trailers and it was the main character designer who provided a very curious piece of information about it.
Jared Krichevsky has revealed in a Twitter post, which he has deleted and you can see just below, that the pink appearance is based on Dragon Ball. And not exactly in Goku Black Dragon Ball Supersince it is the character that has been characterized by using said transformation, but by one of the first that the protagonist had in the entire Akira Toriyama series.
“I didn't see Goku Rosé until years later. But I based the transformation on Kaio-Ken. Yes, it was always supposed to be a temporary transition. In the movie he absorbs Amat's DNA”
And it all originates in the legendary Kaio-Ken which Goku first used during his fights against Nappa and Vegeta on Earth. The problem with this technique is that it severely wears down the Saiyan's body, so he should not raise the power multiplier of it too much if he does not want to suffer the consequences. The best thing is that Godzilla's use of it is quite similar.
“The enormous amount of energy required to Your transformation would require you to burn all your extra fat. This will change as he regains full control,” explains Krichevsky. In this case, the gigantic monster is also forced to decide when he should use his ace up his sleeve so as not to waste his forces senselessly.
