So that we don’t miss the blue checkmark on Twitter, Google incorporated email account verification into Gmail. We tell you everything you need to know here!
The last company to add verification to their service was Google in gmailwhere now if we have a company account we can have the blue tick that Twitter now he asks us to pay him. At the moment, this is only available for some users of gmail, but it is specially designed with the security of those receiving emails in mind. This comes as a response to the company’s intention to detect what kind of emails are spam, phishing attacks and other scams.
In order to get verified, you have to meet the requirements that the company has been asking for two years, and once we have the blue tick, if someone wants to know if we are trustworthy, they just have to pass the cursor over it and discover the domain of the Verified account. The system is based on the existing technology of Mark Indicators for message identification (BIMI), which was implemented in Google since July 2021. That’s why it was only available if we had BIMIand it did not work with the accounts that have an email @gmail.com.
However, now the blue tick is available for all types of accounts Gmail, including those of Workspace and personal accounts, as long as they meet the requirements. Currently, there are already some users who have verification activated so you may receive emails from people who have a blue tick. “Strong email authentication helps users and email security systems identify and stop spam, and also allows senders to leverage their brand trust.” noted an update blog post from Google Workspace where the news is announced.
For now, we have to wait for Google announce what the arrival of the blue tick will be like to the rest of the accounts and the world, since it is currently only available for accounts of USA. But this will probably do in the next few weeks when you start to see a couple of users with the verification.
