The Adventures of Deadpool, the most shameless hero in all of Marvel, are always an unrepeatable spectacle. Just take a look at his two films and the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. And things only get better in the animated series and even more so in the comics. His ability to break the fourth wall, sense of humor and ability to reference anything never ceases to amaze us.
Writer Cody Ziglar (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) has taken to his Instagram to announce news that has him excited: “What a time to be alive. I'm going to write Deadpool!” The publication shares some cartoons by artist Roge Antonio, known for Venom, Carnage Reigns and Symbiote Spider-Man 2099. The cover of Deadpool #1 is by Taurin Clarke.
Beyond the advertisement, what is really interesting is in the second image: some vignettes that seemed to make a reference to the manga (Shonen Jump) by Tatsuki Fujimoto: Chainsaw Man, specifically making a sign similar to the one called “Kong!” of the character Aki Hayakawa. The finished version (in color and with dialogue) reveals that not only is it a wink, but Deadpool literally mentions the work.
“Have you seen Chainsaw Man?” Deadpool says in the first panel. “What the hell is that?”, responds the other character before being devoured by a giant wolf. “It doesn't matter. You'd probably hate it,” he says with some sarcasm. Sublime, as always! Deadpool #1 comic is now available and Chainsaw Man also in manga format on Manga Plus and anime on Crunchyroll.
