Xbox officially announced the first four games developed by the company's studios that will arrive tomorrow on the Sony (PlayStation) and Nintendo (Switch) platforms. These are some of the titles most chosen by Xbox players such as Pentiment (Obsidian), HiFi Rush (Tango Gameworks/Bethesda), Grounded (Obsidian) and Sea of Thieves (Rare).
The arrival of these important Xbox games to other platforms, and by extension to thousands of new players and communities, was possible thanks to the cross-platform work experience of developer studios such as Rare, Obsidian, Bethesda and Tango Gameworks. The four titles join franchises such as Minecraft, Call of Duty, Overwatch and Devilwhich are now available across multiple devices and platforms.
1. Pentiment From Obsidian Entertainment, the award-winning, unique and critically acclaimed narrative adventure game with a striking visual style inspired by the story itself is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on February 22.
2. Hi-Fi RUSHthe renowned rhythm-based action game where the world synchronizes to the music of Tango Gameworks/Bethesda Softworks will arrive on PlayStation 5 on March 19, with pre-orders available for digital purchases starting February 22.
3. Grounded, also from Obsidian Entertainment, the cooperative survival adventure that achieved more than 20 million players will arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on April 16. Cross-play mode will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
4. Sea of Thieves, Rare's open-world adventure game is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 30. Likewise, it will be available in the wishlist from PlayStation 5 players starting tomorrow, February 22. After building an incredible community of more than 35 million players globally, cross-play will be enabled on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
The officialization of the first four multiplatform Xbox titles comes after last week the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencerwill announce it through a podcast along with other senior managers of the company such as Sarah Bondpresident of Xbox, and Matt Bootyhead of Xbox Game Studios.
During the podcast, Spencer spoke about the importance of Microsoft continuing to provide unique experiences for all players and was emphatic in highlighting that the most important games in the world will be on Xbox, that the titles first-party they will reach Xbox Game Pass from launch day and a robust, innovative multi-year hardware roadmap.
Additionally, during the broadcast, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming announced that one of his priorities is the compatibility of all games available in the Xbox catalog, including cross-play, cross-save and extensive cloud gaming functions. Lastly, Spencer added that Xbox will continue to support game creators so they can reach the widest audience possible.
