After a long wait, Netflix finally announced the release date and teaser trailer for One Piece, a series that will have the difficult task of adapting Eiichiro Oda’s manga. The show will land on the streaming service at the end of August.
If you were pending the great event of Netflix weekend, TUDUMthey probably saw the news and premieres that are coming for the remainder of 2023 and 2024. One of them is nothing more and nothing less than the series one piece. It is an adaptation that many fans of the manga of Eiichiro Oda They have been waiting for three years.
In TUDUM, Netflix not only shared new images and an expected first teaser trailer for One Piece, where you can see recognized locations and each one of the protagonists (Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp and Sanji). He also gave us the date that all the episodes will land on: August 31st. So it is very possible that, as we get closer to the date, the platform will release more live-action previews.
Although they have not yet released an official synopsis, the series will adapt the story we know from the manga. Therefore, we will continue to luffy, a young man who will travel through the most dangerous and adventurous path to fulfill his dream of becoming the King of the Pirates. For this, our protagonist (together with a crew made up of the most peculiar members) will travel the world in search of the One Piece, the legendary treasure of the previous King of the Gold Roger Pirates.
In case you are afraid of what Netflix can do with this adaptation, we tell you that the creator of the manga, Eiichiro Oda, is executive producer of the series. Oda worked closely with the streaming service to ensure the show was as faithful to the source material as possible.
From what we see in the teaser trailer, the series seems to be on the right track. Many fans were excited just by seeing the details and costumes of the main characters, which seem to be taken directly from the manga. The check @newworldartur compared the clothes some characters are wearing in the trailer with the covers of Ode for the manga.
Now it only remains to hope that the rest of the series also remains faithful and with many details for fans to recognize and smile. Developed by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, One Piece has in its cast Inaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, several fans believe that the streaming service could release a new trailer (with much more action and details) in July, at the One Piece Day (which is 22). So wait and be patient. The live-action series will reach Netflix on August 31.
