Starfild reveals its minimum and recommended requirements to play the new Bethesda game on PC
Just a few days ago, the Starfield Direct took place, where Bethesda put all the meat on the grill to show each and every one of the facets of Starfield, the most ambitious game to date for Todd Howard’s team. Is about an open world space RPG with up to a thousand planets to visit, with large cities and vast natural landscapes full of fauna and vegetation, space combat, construction of bases and much more. In other words, a whole new generation game, which will have next generation requirements. Including an important detail that could make you change or upgrade your PC.
Starfield may not be the most photorealistic game on the scene, nor the one with the best character models or animations, but in terms of scale, it does aim to be one of the biggest games ever created. That is why Bethesda demands a crucial element of hardware among its requirements: an SSD disk.
To infinity and beyond, only with SSD
At this point, it is not necessary to go into much detail about the differences between SSD and a traditional HDD to know that there is an important leap in terms of read and write speed necessary to run the latest games on the market more efficiently, but the thing is that, until now, both technologies continued to coexist in the PC gaming environment. With the arrival of Starfield, it seems that players with older PCs that do not have an SSD they won’t be able to run the gameeven if they meet the other requirements.
This is the list of Starfield minimum and recommended requirements on PC (via Steam):
