Despite being an expansion and not a new game, Phantom Liberty It has been one of the most commented announcements of the summer season of events. This is the first (and so far the last) DLC in the history of Cyberpunk 2077, the work of CD Projekt RED that has already overcome its initial problems and intends to take a new leap forward.
In that sense, we have now had access to the first in-game look at Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty hand in hand with the portal specialized in analysis and comparisons Digital Foundry. The aforementioned YouTube channel has shared a video that you can see just below and that shows gameplay of the aforementioned expansion, as well as graphic and performance comparisons between all the platforms on which it will be released next September.
First in-game look at Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
In the video, from more than thirteen minutes duration, we can see action, shooting, driving, explosions and neon lights. All the key features of Cyberpunk 2077 are back in Phantom Liberty, but the creative decision to eschew the old-gen versions in favor of Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC seems to have graphically favored the game.
In these first images we can see a lightning much more successful and that has a very positive impact on the general appearance of the game. Digital Foundry has also taken advantage of this early access to some of the Phantom Liberty content to bring the different versions face to face. The one on PC plays with an advantage thanks to the possibility of activating the ray tracing mode and keep running at the frame rate per second that your computer allows. When doing it on console we will have to settle for 30 fps.
Performance mode, on both Microsoft’s and Sony’s higher-end consoles, works at 1440p and 60 frames per second with some sacrifices in shadows and reflections, but with a great performance in the Series X version, with some drops in frames per second, but much less pronounced than those that occur in the PlayStation 5 version.
