The new PS5 portable console, Project Q, presented at the PlayStation Showcase has not stopped offering details in the last hours.
Although there were many names that were protagonists in the PlayStation Showcase 2023, there is one of them that resonates strongly in the last hours. And that is none other than Project Q, the new device dedicated to portable gaming that Sony is preparing for its launch this year. They have recently been disclosed all the details and specificationswhich point to those first bad omens that it will be a console that works through remote play. Now, one of the best-known insiders in the industry could have unveiled one of the most anticipated aspects of him: the price.
The person in charge of doing it has been Tom Henderson, who was the first to report the existence of this new portable console from the hand of PlayStation. Thus, Henderson is one of the most reliable sources in this matter, so what we tell you below should not be too far from what the Japanese company officially announces in the coming months. As stated by the journalist in the Iron Lord podcast, the price of Project Q should be around 200 euros. Taking into account the competition in the market with other devices such as Logitech G Cloud at a price of 359 euros, Sony would like to present competition with a more aggressive and affordable price.
Of course, this is just a rumor and we will have to wait to find out more official details about Project Q. However, this lower cost compared to other similar devices could be fully justified taking into account the urgent need to have a PS5 to run console titles on this laptop.
The launch of Project Q aims at the end of 2023
Beyond the price, another of the big questions about Project Q is when will it be available on the market. During the PlayStation Showcase broadcast, the company pointed to its launch this year, without specifying anything else at the moment. Tom Henderson himself already pointed out in his day that this device would be available at end of present 2023so it is very likely that in the coming weeks we will receive more information about it.
In addition, Sony is expected to release the hybrid model of PS5 with the removable disk for its launch in the remainder of the year, thus completing all the hardware devices that the company has prepared to continue increasing the PS5 family.
