There are a few weeks left until Redfall hits stores around the world (and also day one at Game Pass) and the new Arkane is creating huge expectations despite the fact that it is a very different job from what the French studio has accustomed us to in its short but successful professional career.
Now we continue to learn more details about this cooperative action title and it has been confirmed that Redfall will only have release quality mode, while the performance mode will have to wait until after the game’s premiere on May 2. This has been made known by the official account of the video game through Twitter.
Redfall is launching on Xbox consoles with Quality mode only:
Xbox Series X: 4K 30FPS
Xbox Series S: 1440p 30 FPS
60 FPS Performance mode will be added via game update at a later date. pic.twitter.com/NLaGsMbwdW—Redfall (@playRedfall) April 12, 2023
Redfall will only have release quality mode
As it is, Redfall on launch Xbox will only have the quality mode, which prioritizes image quality over performance. This is how it will work depending on the console you play it on:
- Xbox Series X: 4K and 30 frames per second
- Xbox Series S: 1440p (2K) and 30 frames per second
As confirmed by Arkane herself, the performance mode that will make Redfall work at 60 frames per second will arrive via an update at a later date that they have not yet been able to indicate. The community’s reaction hasn’t been too positive, since it’s not very common to see a next-generation game without one of the two most widespread graphic modes at launch. Hopefully we won’t have to wait long after the game’s release to be able to enjoy the performance mode that is so necessary for many users.

Doubts near launch
Redfall is a major registry change in Arkane, so it has raised questions among fans in recent weeks. One of the most recent gameplays of the new from the creators of Dishonored or Deathloop disappointed the fans for its visual section. Recently Arkane has also been showing trailers focused on the four protagonists of this eminently cooperative story but which can also be played and enjoyed alone and which takes us to an open world full of vampires that we have to hunt down. Remember that Redfall arrives on May 2 on Xbox Series X | S and PC and that it will also do day one in Game Pass at no additional cost for subscribers to the Microsoft service.
