The horror franchise starring Art the Clown promises to be the next great slasher icon. After an almost epic arrival, winning the North American box office against all odds last Halloween campaign, Terrifier 2 became a resounding success. Although the third part was almost assured, it was not until a few days ago that its director, Damien Leone, and the rest of the production team have confirmed it, including producer Phil Falcone. Terrifier 3 will be released in 2024 and it will most likely not be the last installment in the saga. Leone himself commented that he already had ideas for Terrifier 3, but that they would most likely cover more than one film, so it would not be unusual for it to end up divided into two parts.
Also, expectations are very high for Terrifier 3 and Leone knows it. As he has told Variety, Leon has been working on Terrifier 3 since the end of the second part. He even went so far as to save some of the scenes for the third installment, because he already knew where he wanted to take the movie. He has also indicated that he wants to return to the sensations that Terrifier (2016) left behind; a simpler movie, more old school, a purer slasher but more terrifying than Terrifier 2.
Terrifier 3 will also be released in theaters, although for now only in the United States:
“I want Terrifier 3 to have a more evil undertone, I want it to be the scariest of the trilogy. I want the audience that goes to see it to not be as comfortable with Art the Clown as they are now. I want to see if I can make people feel afraid again,” said Damien Leone.

In any case, the public will enjoy it in style, because Terrifier 3 has secured its theatrical release in the United States. And it will be a premiere throughout the country, not as limited as Terrifier 2 had it, although little by little it was expanding. For this, the Terrifier team will count on the distribution of Cineverse, whose CEO, Chris McGurk, is delighted about this collaboration.
“Terrifier 2 made profits of 60 times its cost of production and was pretty much driven by social media marketing. We are delighted that Damien and Phil want to stay true to the franchise and maintain an uncensored line. (…) This time we are planning a massive theatrical release for Terrifier 3, because we are sure that it will offer a horror experience like no other. We can’t wait to see where Damien and Phil’s creative vision will go when Terrifier 3 hits the big screen in October 2024.”
At the moment its theatrical release beyond the United States has not been confirmed, although Selecta Visión may once again be encouraged to bring it to Spain. For its part, Terrifier (2016) will have a re-release in North American theaters on July 19, although it remains to be seen if it will do so outside of North American territory.
