The franchise of Metal Gear started in 1987. with a release being produced and published by Hideo Kojima and Konami, respectively. The first title of this great franchise told us the final stretch in the Metal Gear Solid chronology, however, its infiltration mechanics and a touch of “metroidvania” made this game a great MSX title. Over time, Metal Gear Solid gained a lot of popularity until its most recent installment, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the “half reason” of the why Kojima is not involved in Metal Gear Solid: DELTA.
This story goes back to the years of development of Metal Gear Solid V, after having given continuity to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance under the charge of PlatinumGames, Kojima and his team gave free rein to their creativity to structure the first bases of what we know today as MGSV. However, the rumors of the time indicate that Hideo Kojima was looking forward to working on a new game of his horror saga, silent hill.

It is said that the reason why Kojima is not involved in Metal Gear Solid: DELTA and will no longer be part of any Konami project is because the director took part of the MGSV budget to secretly develop PT (Playable Teaser), what became known as the playable deme of an upcoming Silent Hill. Apparently, no one at Konami, apart from Kojima and his team, knew of the relationship between the director and PlayStation to release a new iteration of Silent Hill. And as if that were not enough, Kojima had a budget specifically aimed at developing the new Metal Gear Solid V.

After the revelation of PT in 2014, it is believed that Konami gave Hideo Kojima the opportunity to finish Metal Gear Solid V and thus close the franchise to proceed to be fired and lose his position as vice president. Although this is what has always been told, it seems that it is not the whole truth. Well, Kojima Productions mentioned in 2020 that Kojima was not fired from Konami for allocating the funds to PT, however, the media Gameblog, source of informationdoes not reveal more details about what happened.
